Four Advantages of Hybrid Ceramic Bearings

Hybrid ceramic bearings may be relatively uncommon, and the main configuration of hybrid ceramic bearings is composed of inner and outer ring bearing steel/stainless steel/plastic+ceramic balls+PA66/stainless steel/steel retainer+2RS/ZZ or open combination. Hybrid ceramic bearings have the following four major advantages during use.
1. High speed. Ceramic balls have oil-free self-lubricating properties, and their friction coefficient is small, so they have a high rotational speed. The speed of bearings using ceramic balls is more than 1.5 times that of general bearings.
2. Insulation. The use of ceramic balls in bearings can insulate the inner and outer rings of the bearings, as ceramic balls are insulators. By using ceramic balls between the inner and outer rings of the bearings, insulation can be achieved. This enables the bearing to be used in a conductive environment. This is also the biggest advantage of hybrid ceramic bearings.
3. High temperature resistance. The thermal expansion coefficient of ceramic balls is small. In high-temperature environments, the bearing ball will not expand due to temperature, which greatly increases the service temperature of the entire bearing. The temperature of ordinary bearings is around 160 degrees, while that of ceramic balls can reach over 220 degrees.
4. Long service life. Ceramic balls can be lubricated without any grease, which means that even if the grease dries out, the bearing can still operate, thus avoiding the occurrence of premature bearing damage caused by grease drying in ordinary bearings. According to foreign media testing and feedback from some customers, the service life of bearings after using ceramic balls is 2-3 times that of ordinary bearings.
